What stainless grade and thickness does the part need?
304 stainless covers most work tables, sinks, and equipment stands; 316 (316L on request) is the call where chloride exposure or aggressive washdown chemicals are part of the daily cleaning routine. Most gauge for tabletops and panels falls well inside our capability envelope, so the thickness decision is driven by rigidity and dent resistance rather than any process limit. On the forming side, our press brakes hold stainless up to 6 mm at ±0.5° bend angle, and flat blanks come off our sister site’s stainless laser cutting cell, which cuts stainless up to 6 mm at ±0.05 mm tolerance with a nitrogen-assist edge that stays oxide-free and weld-ready. That clean edge matters on a visible kitchen surface — it welds cleanly and finishes without extra prep.
How do you finish stainless for a visible kitchen surface?
Every visible weld is ground and blended flush so the seam reads continuous rather than as a bead sitting on top of the surface — the difference between a table that looks welded and one that looks fabricated as a single piece. Standard finishes are #4 brushed for most work-surface and panel faces, #2B mill finish where a smoother, less textured surface is called for, and polished on request; passivation and electropolish are available through finishing where the print specifies it. Stainless is welded in dedicated bays with separate consumables to keep it free of carbon-steel contamination, and the finish is called out and matched across every panel on a multi-piece install so a hood, a table, and a splash panel from the same job read as one finish.
Do you build to NSF/ANSI 2 — and where is the line?
We fabricate to NSF/ANSI 2 design requirements when the customer’s print specifies them — material grade, weld profile, and finish selected to meet the standard. We are not an NSF-listed equipment manufacturer: the listing and certification mark belong to the company that owns and lists the equipment design, and we build to that design rather than certifying our own. We also do not install equipment or build refrigeration systems — plumbing, gas, electrical hookup, and refrigeration are outside our scope and stay with your kitchen equipment dealer or contractor.
Documentation for a multi-unit rollout
A restaurant group standardizing a work table or hood design across several properties needs the tenth unit to match the first, not just look close to it.
